Roupas com apelo ecoinovador: o país de origem é importante?

Resumo

O objetivo desta pesquisa é investigar a influência do país de origem na atitude e na intenção de compra dos brasileiros em relação a roupas de tecido ecoinovador. Para tanto, foram conduzidos dois estudos. O primeiro, exploratório, identificou percepções quanto à qualidade de roupas produzidas em diferentes países. O segundo, de natureza experimental, avaliou atitude e intenção de compra em relação a roupas de tecido ecoinovador produzidas nesses países. Nesse sentido, os resultados apontam atitude e intenção de compra positivas em relação ao produto ecoinovador. Porém, o interesse por esse produto não está associado ao país de origem. A falta de suporte empírico para as hipóteses sugere que fatores intrínsecos, como a característica ecológica do produto,ainda são mais importantes que o país de origem, que, por sua vez, torna-se menos relevante com a crescente globalização da produção e do consumo. Dessa forma, empresas do setor têxtil podem buscar diferenciação estratégica e competitividade ao estabelecerem sua produção no país que considerarem mais adequado (sem preocupação com a imagem do país de origem) enquanto focam em ecoinovações.Verificou-se também que a ecoinovação na produção têxtil e a influência do país de origem não tinham sido investigadas anteriormente em um mesmo estudo. Embora ainda não confirmada, a influência do país de origem nas atitudes e intenções de compra, os resultados sãorelevantes em termos teóricos e gerenciais.
